| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 12, 2005 Vinous and fruity aroma is lightly spicy. Clear dark brown body is topped by a decent white head that recedes to ring. Dark pit fruit and bready malts in the clean, straight forward flavour with light finishing bitterness. Moderate carbonation to the medium-light body. Bottle sampled at RBESG 2005.

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Sep 16, 2005 I have to admit, I was hoping for a bit more out of this one given how awesome their other brews are. Pours light brown with a small off white head. Some average hop notes are picked up on the nose as well as some nutty aromas, but otherwise not very strong. Has some decent roasted malt profiles when tasted, but falls well short of some of my favorite dopplebocks. Could be a bit more balanced. Emil (6074), Copenhagen, Denmark

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 18, 2005 Bottle. Orange/brown in colour, quite pale for a doppelbock. Herbal and grassy, with touches of caramel. Some alcohol noticed, but it gives some length to the flavour. Quite warming. joergen (8610), Frederiksberg, Denmark

| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Aug 8, 2005 On tap @ the Falling Rock poured brown with reddish highlites and a minamal head. Aromas of dates, figs, and some vinous notes. Mouthfeel was on the syrupy side. Flavors of SOYSAUCE, , dates and a bitter warming finish. I wouldnt recommend drinking this to anyone, but has potential as a marinade. dortmunder (961), Herdecke, Germany
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 30, 2005 Bottled. Slightly cloudy amber colour. Medium frothy, off-white head. A little sediment on the bottom. Raisiny, sweet, chocolatey aroma. Wonderful malty, caramelly, chocolatey taste with the perfect amount of sweetness. Finishes bitter-chocolatey with hints of hoppiness. Medium- to fullbodied. All in all one of the best doppelbocks I´ve ever had with those chocolatey notes, a moderate sweetness, full flavour and a decent body. One of my new favourite beers. Many thanks to joss for sending me this revelation.
