Very nice flowery aromahop and light butterscotch aroma. Red brown, low creamy head, restrained carbonation. Big sweet caramel malt base, burned and smoked notes. Everything is overlaid with a broad a rich hop profile, lovely flowery notes in the middle and a noticable bitterhop exit. When you pour the last yeast you get brandy raisin notes as well. Full body, but not really heavy. This beer was worth driving for...

Bottled 50cl. Courtesy of Quack-Duck. It pours a dark ruby brown beer with a small beige head. Very nice aroma of licorice, smoke, a lot of almonds, hops, candied fruit and raisin. Great taste which is complex and smoky. Low carbonation. Extremely drinkable and smooth. Medium bodied. Good bitterness. The beautiful hop profile really adds to this beer. A huge amount of almonds in the flavor too with accompanying hints of caramel, walnuts, licorice, dark chocolate. Not much lacework. Very long dry finish which is reminiscent of chocolate powder, almonds and walnuts. A fantastic beer! Thanks a lot Quack-Duck for this gem!

Bottled. Slightly cloudy amber colour. Medium frothy, off-white head. A little sediment on the bottom. Raisiny, sweet, chocolatey aroma. Wonderful malty, caramelly, chocolatey taste with the perfect amount of sweetness. Finishes bitter-chocolatey with hints of hoppiness. Medium- to fullbodied. All in all one of the best doppelbocks I´ve ever had with those chocolatey notes, a moderate sweetness, full flavour and a decent body. One of my new favourite beers. Many thanks to joss for sending me this revelation.

Tap @ Spuytin Duyvil. Poured a brown color with twinges of red and a nice lasting head. Roasted malt taste that had a bit of toffee and a light bitterness. As good of a dopplebock that I’ve had on tap. Smooth.

On tap @ Bodega, Sweet malt, hint of smoke, auburn, tiny beige head. Smoked chocolate, cherry, coffee flavours at the front, with a nutty, woody, character as well. Complex, chewy, meaty, a most unique example!

Dark brown color, light brown head. The nose exudes earthy chocolate notes, while the mouth has a winey fruitiness that is laden with chocolate. The wininess and fruit really come through. The moderately bitter winey chocolately finish is superb. This is my knida dopplebock.

Interesting and different.Red and clear, tan head. Hoppy and raisiny aroma. Flavor is big and malty, with a good hop flavor and fruityness. Almost you could call it a Belgian Doppelbock!
