| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 5, 2004 Pale amber color, moderate carbonation, decent head retention & a little middle of the road head. The aroma is toasty & biscuity with some rich malts and light hops notes. Some spices (cinnamon & nutmeg) are also apparent. The flavor is well balanced, light bodied but flavorful. Tasty with a dry malty finish. This was a new surprise for a Boise Import. heemer77 (4311), Savannah, Missouri, USA

Aroma of grass and orange hops. Creamy medium mouthfeel. Some orange and cream in the taste. Very smooth. rajendra82 (704), Alpharetta, Georgia, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 18, 2004 Attractive golden pour is quite hazy due to the unfiltered nature of the beer. Tall off-white colored creamy head is much better retained than most lagers. Aroma is light hops that are grassy (and a bit sulfury) with clean smelling malts. Taste is very balanced between malts and hops. The malts are sweet-sour and grainy, while the hops are delicate and aromatic. Unlike most other European lagers, the beer has a substantial body and a medium mouthfeel. This is an exceptional lager, which I offered to an uninitiated friend from work, and even he was impressed by the taste and smoothness. joss (3687), Garching b. München, Germany
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 17, 2004 Grassy and flowery hop nose.
Dark hazy amber, big foamy head which could be more stable.
Good malt foundation with a harmonic hop build on top - soft aromatic and dry grassy notes.
Full to medium body, subtle dry exit.
Very nice Helles, the Wolnzacher guys know their stuff. harlequinn (2745), Tacoma, Washington, USA

Aroma is sweet, flowery in a sense, and non-distinctive. Some small amount of spice such as coriander comes to mind as well. Certainly a mix of hops, aromatic hops prevailing.
Medium rich mouthfeel, wonderful, full flavored brew with sweet malt meeting tangy hops in a waltz I don't want to end.
To me, this is a great version, and a wonderful rendition of the style. Seek it out.,
