Draught at Pig ’N’ Whistle, Brisbane. Amber beer with a medium white head. This IPA has a good malt backbone and pleasant fruity hops and esters coming through on the nose and flavour. I reckon it’s lacking the ’earthiness’ of the English hops I really enjoy in this style but other than that a pretty solid IPA. In fairness the beer is served way too cold which doesn’t really help the cause. Will go back for another pint though!

Brewed just for Pig and Whistle by Burleigh. Listed as a 5% IPA. First off this is more of a bitter in all departments. Once it warms up, Nose is of English Hops in near copious amounts (for this brewer). Body is malty and moreish with a good bitter finish. Pretty well done and a surprise considering the brewer and the location. Thumbs up, but don’t forget to let it warm up!
