(cask @ The Old Toad - Rochester, NY) Dark black pour with a nice and thick tan head. Aroma is a nice mix of roasted malts and dark fruits. Taste is very roasty at the front with a nice and fruity sweetness after that and a surprisingly bitter finish. A bit thin for a stout, but very tasty and slightly spicy on the palate.

Aroma is distinctly dark fruits with burntish malts and grassy hops. Taste is similar with the juice of the dark fruits having a wee say.

bottle. pours a dark brown-mahogany coloured body with a small bready white head. the aroma is interesting just like their porter - berry fruit tartness and a little bit of burnt roast. soft creamy mouthfeel with only the slightest carbonation. it has some berry tartness at times that proves to be quite interesting along with coffee bitterness. pretty tasty.

Bottled. Black coloured. A very fruity stout with notes of sweet berries in the aroma and i the flavour. The finish is quite hoppy and bitter. Nice.

Bottle shared with HogTownHarry & tupalev at Smokeless Joe. Pours a dark reddish purple with no head. Aroma of chocolate and fruit. Flavour is really fruity, surprising for a Stout. Tastes of blackberries, roasted malt and coffee. It has a nice bitterness to it as well, it’s quite dry. A little thin and flat for the style. Not great but it is unique and and enjoyable.

Bottle shared with HogTown Harry and Blankboy at Smokeless Joe’s. Dark brown / red/purple / no head. Slight hints of chocolate and fruit in aroma. Really nice taste of Black Forest Chocolate cake, with emphasis on berries. Lovely sweet taste, balanced. Thin, and I could see how some may dislike, but I thought it kept its stout backbone while bringing something new and unique to the table. Enjoyable!
