Long final. I can’t detect the fruits, but very good anyway! Excellent stout. Bov (5495), Bienne, Switzerland

Low carbonation. Finishes with a bitter roasted barley flavor. Not a bad little stout. jerc (3954), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 22, 2004 Black with virtually no head. Sour olive like aroma. The flavour profile is a bit strange with hints of roastiness in the background hard to pick out from the distractingly sour acidity. Not entirely pleasant but not horrible either. Definitely interesting either way. DanielBrown (1919), Birmingham (via Leicester), West Midlands, England
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 9, 2004 Hand pulled at the Alfred, Burton on Trent. Jet black, no real head, but some beige lacing. I couldn't really get the bramble here - there was some sweetness in the middle of the palate, but nothing demonstrative. Rich, smooth ale, not too much on the oats flavour, and thinish and metally. Medium dry finish - fairly short. I expected a lot of this one, and whilst it didn't totally deliver the goods, this is still a nice and rather unusual product.
