Colour is a deep, rich brown-black. Aroma of malt, coffee, molasses and dark, ripe fruit. Mouthfeel is rich and full. Flavour opens as good, sweet stout, with the slightly sour berry & fruit notes providing a solid finish. A very unique & very good beer. omhper (12247), Stockholm, Sweden

Pitch black colour, large tan head. Lovely aroma of bramble (blackberries) with vinous notes, also notes of chocolate and a mild roastiness. The flavour has a roasty and hoppy (Challenger) bitterness throughout, notes of coffee and berries (the latter are fairly subdued). Bitter aftertaste. Good beer! mrkimchee (1414), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Superb appearance with a deep brown-black body, brutal stable, foamy and creamy beige head. Nice sourish-roasted aroma with coffee and some fruits. Deep roasted character in the flavor with coffe, dark chocolate, candy sugar, some wild-fruits. A bit of blackberries. Fine roasted coffe-like aftertaste. ladnewton (235), London, Greater London, England

Dark ruby body and pale brown head. Slight smoke in the aroma; very bitter and sligtly grassy kick; satisfyingly bitter finish. A rich burnt malt/coffee/bitter chocolate note late on in the flavour cycle of this excellent stout. Oakes (8108), gone rambling, Cambodia
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 8, 2003 Beautiful label. Near black colour. Aroma of molasses, slightly curranty notes. The nose hints at the sweetness to come. The body is indeed sweet, slightly earthy, fruity, with a toffeeish note. The fruit blends in well, and overall the character of the beer is very unique. It is more reminiscent of an old-school porter than a stout, given its lack of overt roast and hop.
