It was also sweeter than any other porters I have tried. It did not have as much of a coffee/chocolate taste . Not bad, but I found it to be lacking in flavour. My wife really enjoyed it. fonefan (11888), VestJylland, Denmark

Lighter body for the style, almost like a dark brown ale rather than a porter. Bold aroma, with notes of chocolate and coffee, belies the medium body. Quite drinkable. Toasted malt and fruity flavours with a smooth finish. Mouth-feel a bit thin. Perhaps a good intro to the style as it’s pretty inoffensive. Svesse (2683), Hässelby, Sweden

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 22, 2006 Very intresting beer here, not like a normal porter, maybe more like i imagine it used to be, when beer was made about 200 years ago. Aroma has some sweetness, maybe some apples and dustyness? Taste has soem roasted malts, some darker fruits kicking in too, a little pale sherry character. Seems a bit old, use by date is 03/06 and its 02/06 so maybe this contributes, very intresting.
