Aromas of alcohol, blackberries, black cherries, faint chocolate and caramelised malts. Odd very bitter mouthfeel. Not your usual porter, dark fruity taste and fresh malt. Slightly over carbonated with i find a medium creamy body. Definitely unique.... FatPhil (3507), Espoo, Finland

Jet black, thick tight head. Sickly sweet aroma. Full bodied malty taste, richly roasted malt, a little buit spicy. Slight creaminess too. Burps well! JesseM (681), Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, Canada
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Sep 21, 2007 500ml bottle. Pours a deep brown, with a nice large, beige head. Some floaters in there. Aroma is odd, some chocolate, some roasted malts, and something sour, with a touch of alcohol. The taste is also strange, toasted malts with sourness, notes of alcohol? What? Sort of an earthy, malty finish that is nice though. Maybe I got an off-bottle? wilderthanyou (423), Guelph, Ontario, Canada

The colour is a murkey brown. Aroma roasted malts, cinnamon, and something else that reminds me of a porta-potty. Flavour is malty sweet with roasted malt characteristics, with notes of apple cider. Watery as hell with next to no carbonation, Really quite dissapointed with this, probably one of the worst porters I’ve had to date. Consider it more of a dark ale than anything. KimmoS (51), Finland

I really like the yeasty smell in this porter. Very nice drinking beer. Burnt after taste, maybe some fruit. Mouthfeel is stingy enough for me. matt7215 (1000), Cambridge, Ontario, Canada

Strong alcohol aroma, which is strange considering the alcohol%. Malty flavour. Bitter, but a bit watery. I tried it after the Scotch Irish porter, and although it was okay it just didn’t compare. | 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Jun 11, 2007 The Grog Shop, Oxford. Dark brown pour, skiff of tan head. Nose of ash, leaf mould and green apples. Stale smoke roast, a bit of warm bread. Good amount of body for the abv. Clean finish. Deeply flawed as this is, I still found it kind of enjoyable.
