The aroma is sweet with notes of cowberries, combined with hints of toffee. The flavor is sweet with a strong berry note combined with some fruit notes and light hop notes, leading to a slightly bitter and dry end with a touch of wood. Very light for a Porter - I can’t find the roasted malt. MiP (9087), Sønderborg, Denmark

Dark ruby color, no head. Earthy, dark fruity nose, some woody hops. Sticky bitterish and sweetish flavor. Long dry, bitterish aftertaste then some caramel. Where is the porter? Or is this old time English porter? MesandSim (5851), London, Greater London, England

Would be nice if it was a bit stonger smelling. Very very slight coffee flavour, but mostly tastes more like an amber. Strong plum in the flavour with a gorgeous sweet finish. Colour is a glorious red and black. Rastacouere (5553), Montréal, Quebec, Canada

Comments: Fun, dark, roasty ale with well-extracted malts. Another very good dark one from Burton Bridge.
