Svesse (2597), Hässelby, Sweden Aug 28, 2009 (Cask at Swann, Liverpool, 20 July 2009) Copper colour with frothy, off-white head. Fruity nose with peaches, citrus and dusty hops. Fruity taste with notes of biscuity malt, apricots, citrus peel and a decent dose of earthy hops in a slightly soapy finish. Medium body, slightly sweet. Nice one. Fin (3382), Merton, Oxfordshire, England Jul 23, 2009 Cask at Merton Summer Beer and Cider Festival, Merton, Oxon, 18-07-09 Pours warm gold in colour with a big bubbly white head, looks really good in fact. There is a subtle touch of smoke on the nose in the mouth honey and the light smokiness returns, I wasn’t the only one to detect this. Good maltiness and nicely bitter. Nice beer. A7 A4 F7 P4 Ov13 3.5 harrisoni (6703), Ashford, Kent, England Jul 19, 2009 Cask handpull at Market Porter, London, Copper/gold with lasting off white head. It’s a pretty solid good best bitter. Magicdave6 (5400), London, Greater London, England Jul 6, 2009 Cask in the market porter. Alround rating: Pale green unripe apple, yeasty minerally character, light sulphurous hints, nutty sweetness, dry finish. Not good for me. hughie (3018), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England Jul 6, 2009 Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. Copper gold with a small white head. Creamy buttery aroma. Hairy malt taste, quite rough and interesting, with hints of cardboard and acetaldehyde. Some bitterness. I usually like these Burton Bridge specials; this one is quirky and interesting. imdownthepub (5089), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England Jun 27, 2009 Cask conditioned at The Royal Blenheim, Oxford. Gold to amber with white head. Dry and a little astringent bitter with quite a dose of caramel as a filler, the hops are a little thin, but overall a pretty reasonable beer.
