Of course, this was likely because I’d attempted to pour it into a pint glass. Once I was able to pour the entire bottle, the carbonation settled, & the flavor mellowed considerably.<!-- br --><!-- br -->
Similar bitter "bite" at the end like an IPA, but thicker, almost fruity taste/aroma. Persistent frothy head, not <!-- em -->at all<!-- /em --> hoppy like most IPAs. YourDarkLord (1800), Urbana, Illinois, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 1, 2006 Pint Bottle: Pours a very light hazy beer with a thick fluffy head that sticks around throughout in the shape of awhispy layer on top. Some serious sediments on the bottom, which didn’t look appatizing. The color is orange, brown, straw yellow mixture. Aroma is of fruits, hops, urine, sweet sugary malts, very fruity. Flavor is nice ... the description on the bottle was leading me to belive it was an IPA, but I thought it was far too sweet/malty. oldrtybastrd (1823), Morlautern, Germany/Great Falls, Montana, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 15, 2006 Very large off-white head of fine bubble. Great carbonation keeps a ood sized head even in my chimay glass. The head is quite impressive. Dense and creamy on top. Very strong hoppy aroma. Quite bitter and floral. Some strange aroma in there that I cannot place. Almost like a stinky cheese or a dog kennel. Color is a slightly hazy orange amber. Little metallic and minerally. Good helping of hops and bitterness again. Light malts and body. Little bit of lemon grass and straw. Alcohol is present and gives a nice warming. Flavor is sort of one dimensional though. Finish is bitter with some fruit. A pretty good and hoppy english strong ale.
