Nice aromas of earthy hops and oak spice. The beer just danaces on the palate as layers of malt fruit and bittering hops balance each other out to the classic, snappy, minerally finish. harmfuldrunk (288), New Jersey, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 25, 2006 Pours like an American DIPA, murky, yeast laden and particulate heavy, golden/copper with a tan & creamy head that left rocky lacing. Sweetly hopped aroma with biscuity notes, fruity rye and an alcohol hit. Thick & buttery mouthfeel, raspberry fruitiness with tea and pumpernickel. A nice EPA, sessionable and worth further investigation.

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Mar 24, 2006 500ml bottle-pours a big, 2+ finger foamy to rocky offwhite head with hazy yellow/orange color. Aroma is hops, grassy, musty, citrus, floral. Taste is bitter-no citrus, slightly tart, medium body, malt, , woodiness, alcohol. RB has style as English Stong Ale, even though the label has IPA. English Stong Ale IS the taste of this beer. Enjoyable for one and then moving along to something else. jpm30 (1588), East Central, Georgia, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Mar 14, 2006 From a 500ml. shaped narrow neck brown bottle with a blurb about the IPA on the front label and no freshness date. Made a good appearance, poured a hazy, semi-cloudy red and orange hued golden with a billowy, frothy, rocky, clingy white head with good retention, good carbonation. Had a delicious aroma, a sweet lemony and tropical fruit, a little woodiness and a grainy, caramel maltiness. A crisp, chewy lightish medium bodied mouth feel, very good drinkability. Very tasty, a sour lemon/fruity at first followed by a faint cask woodiness and a sweet graininess and a dry, crisp hoppy and grainy finish, with a lingering warm alcohol presence in the palate.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 28, 2006 Aroma is slightly sour, almost lambic like with alot of grassy/peppery hops. Taste is almost triple like but with a sharpness off the acidity, and very very yeasty. Intresting different beer.
