Thick off-white head with a semi-cloudy amber color. Nose is sweet malt and dry hops. Bitter hops dominate a sweet nutty malt flavor. Some alcohol warmth after the swallow. I noticed in the right column of this page that this ale is linked to Fuller’s Vintage Ale in style. This is a very good effort, but it’s not even close to Fuller’s.

this was decent enough. aroma of grass, yeast, and some light citrus. flavor was very vinous and had some citrus but not a ton, with good strong malts and hops. very organic tasting...

Lemon and straw aroma; buttery maltiness, rich and smooth initially, complex, hoppy and spicey; orange peel hints, and a bit astringent finish

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Amber coloured, hazy, with a slim white head. Very nice and complex aroma; malty, fruity, spicey, hoppy, yeasty. Flavour is hoppy, sweet, spicey. Alcohol is well hid. Nice long bitter finish. Full bodied. Excellent.

Bottle Conditioned from Open All Hours, Keswick. Reddish amber. Not much head. Vinous orangey, hoppy aroma, some funky yeast. Big mouthfeel. Tannic and woody. Long vinous and hoppy aftertaste. I like it a lot.

Cloudy orange, only the faintest trace of a head. Possibly the closest thing I’ve ever experienced to a cask feel out of a bottle. Albeit, sort of an old cask. Sweet aroma of orange and oak. Reminds me a bit of maple syrup over buckwheat pancakes. Big, fruity malt flavor, touch of oak and an almost tannic quality, long bitter finish. Not bad, just missed for me.

Big head but fades quickly. Cloudy orange body. Aroma is malts, hops, and mineral spiciness. Taste is very fruity, oaky, and vinous. Spicy and bitter, fizzy finish. Alcohol well hidden. Interesting beer, very different from the American style strong ales.
