Fantastic pop when opened with a floral aroma and amazing head topping a wonderfully opaque orange body. Simply perfect for an india ale. Floral aroma gives way to an overwhelmingly bitter taste, however this is not without its charm... However, the palate leaves much to be desired, high level of carbonation coupled with intense alcohol flavor makes this beer not entirely welcome among my most favorite beers of all time list. All things considered, it is a decent beer once in a while, but I don’t think I will get too attached to it. GreatStelle (360), Chico, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 2, 2004 Very good. A little darker than the average IPA. A pretty thick head. Taste is very hoppy and malts are a bit heavier than an american IPA. Finish is long and dry. wunderbier (1267), Tampere, Finland
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 26, 2004 16.9 oz bottle, pint glass, 48 F. Cookie, toasted light bread malt (M); earthy hops (M); heavy oak aroma. Tall, foamy, white head quickly diminishes to a thin layer over a murky brown-red body. Moderately sweet, moderately acidic flavor becomes a moderately bitter, moderately acidic, vinegar finish. The cask aging lends some strong vinegar notes, much like a lambic. Medium-heavy body, oily texture, lively carbonation. The bottom line is: a powerful ale that might be best enjoyed with food. Alcoholist (570), Peoria, Illinois, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 25, 2004 Golden in colour with sediment. Aroma is fruity and floral. Flavour is full and fruity with a great balance between bitter and sweet. I'm more of an american style IPA man, but this is good stuff. SubstanceT (1090), Saint Louis, Missouri, USA

Darker cloudy in color somwhat golden with sedement on the bottom. Sweet hops in the nose with lots of rolling sweetness and active hops in the taste. Not all that bad! | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 24, 2004 Updated: Jul 5, 2004This is the second time I've had this beer, and I really like it this time. The key (IMO) is to keep the sediment out of the glass (as the bottle instructs).
Has a abnormally huge rocky head with a hazy copper body. Aroma is fruity and strong. Mostly a sugary white wine/grape and some pear. Tastes really good. Best description is it is a hopped white concord grape juice. Finish has a distinct concord grape flavor. It is pretty sweet with a light bitter background throughout, and it is a very pleasant drink. Not your typical IPA. argo0 (6966), Washington DC, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Jan 23, 2004 7.5% in a British IPA?! Never knew there was such a thing. Cloudy amber body topped by a big off-white head. Aroma is fruity (peach, grape, pineapple, mango), floral, bread, light spice, and (?). Taste is light sweet, grape, wood, yeast, finishing with a woodsy bitterness and light alcohol. Medium-full body with some stickiness. The flavors (or perhaps I should say flavours) are not my cup of tea, er, pint of ale. brewbear (48), 3096 Oberbalm, Switzerland
