Rich russet, loose head. Sweet malty aroma. Sweet malty taste, some fruity hops and caramel. Slightly sticky sweet palate, leaves me thirsty. However, certainly very tasty. Unusually, Anna didn’t share this.

Cask@Nottingham Beer Festival, 2008. Dark amber beer with a malty and weakly dry aroma. The flavour is dry, mildly toffee and malty. Overall an average beer.

Cask at the Burton Bridge Inn. Copper with a thin creamy white head; grassy hop aroma. smooth and creamy with a leafy hop flavour and a strong bitter finish. Very easy to drink (unfortunatelly there were too many loud Americans in the bar to appreciate it fully.)

Lacy white cover tops the clearish amber. Extremely yeasty ale offering full on lightly sour flavours dominated by a strong stoney, dry, sandy bitterness. The finish is brutal, even showing some alcohol notes, but the aroma is pleasant, almost funky, estery. Really full-bodied. Original and impressive, but perhaps unpolished and certainly not very balanced. Still, I dig Burton Birdge’s yeast character.

dark amber, frothy dirty white head, sweet caramel malt aroma with light floral hops, smooth body, rich caramel malt flavor followed by a nice light bitterness that lingers into the finish, touch of sweetness comes and goes, as it warms the caramel just keeps getting richer and becomes the whole story with the bitterness fading into the background and providing a touch of balance

Cask-conditioned at the Cornubia, Bristol 10/5/07. Bronze coloured with slight, yet long-lasting head. Aroma was of butterscotch with some grassy hops. A wide array of flavours including toffee, almonds and dried fruit. Finish was long and pleasantly bitter. Excellent.

Poured a very murky reddish-brown from a firkin at the Happy Gnome. Strong ripe fruit, banana, and toffe are accented by a slight smokiness on the nose. The flavor is lighter than the nose and has some nice butterscotch and prune. There is a slight hop bite, but not very noticeable. The flavor is slightly watery and kind of a letdown from the nose.

Cask gravity at White Cliffs BF 2007. Chestnut colour. Thin white head. Very good ESB. Goodish hop/malt/yeast aroma. Decent beer without being too exciting.
