on cask @ the old toad. Ruby body, thinnish head with nice lacing. Nose has chocolate, rich malt, well hopped - reminds me of Aviator Red but harsher. Quite a bit of chocolate, well done rich malt. Some fruitiness, thing mouthfeel. Slightly unpleasent bitter finish

(cask @ The Old Toad - Rochester, NY) Rich amber color with a creamy tan head. Aroma is buttery with hints of malt, toffee and some hops. Can’t quite pin down which hops though. The taste is smooth and malty at first but then bitter, bitter, bitter. The finish is very bitter and hoppy. More bitter than most other casked bitters I’ve had. Still very nice.

[Cask] A hazy amber beer with no head. The aroma is sweet malty, while the flavor is sweet with primary notes of caramel leading to a dry hoppy end.

Oct, 2004 JDW, Rochester. Pleasant malt soon outbalanced by aggressive hops. Old school and not my thing. [2.8]
June, 2008 Cask at Burton Bridge Inn, Burton with haddonsman. A malty premium bitter. Quite clean, but with a soft toffee. Nice. [3.2]

Cask conditioned - handpump - JDW Northampton. A reddy brown coloured bitter which has a warming aroma of butterscotch, toffee and rich fruits. The taste is thick and malty with those fruits also coming through. The alcohol is warming and with caramel notes as well it does become a bit sweet and latterly a tad cloying. A well brewed beer but not to be drunk in large quantities

Burton festival. Strongly sweet and fruity nose, rough malts ease off in the finish. Offers much, delivers throughout.

Cask@Chelmsford BF. Butterscotch/toffee aroma and flavour, some citric resiny hops in the finish, a little bit of alcohol showing in the finish.
