dark amber, frothy dirty white head, sweet caramel malt aroma with light floral hops, smooth body, rich caramel malt flavor followed by a nice light bitterness that lingers into the finish, touch of sweetness comes and goes, as it warms the caramel just keeps getting richer and becomes the whole story with the bitterness fading into the background and providing a touch of balance

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 21, 2007 Lacy white cover tops the clearish amber. Extremely yeasty ale offering full on lightly sour flavours dominated by a strong stoney, dry, sandy bitterness. The finish is brutal, even showing some alcohol notes, but the aroma is pleasant, almost funky, estery. Really full-bodied. Original and impressive, but perhaps unpolished and certainly not very balanced. Still, I dig Burton Birdge’s yeast character. duff (5475), Surrey, Greater London, England
