Handpulled cask at JDW Hertford. Gold with a thin white head. Sulphery aroma. Light and dusty hoppy finish. Unremarkable but washed down a spoons curry effortlessly.

Cask (Angleterre, Helsinki)
Pale straw, loose head. Simple sweet malty aroma. Some fruit esters - apples. Delicious light crispy fruity taste, plenty of subtle hops. Some slight mushroom savouriness. Tasty. Needs a more prominent aroma to shine.

Burton Bridge Inn, Burton. Gulpable session bitter with a swift dusty finish. A little warm and buttery, but decent enough.

The Sir Robert Peel, Tamuff, initially flat and headless as a pint of squash. Bright gold with a dissipating collar of suds. Nose overwhelmingly egg to begin with, then musty green hoppiness once it’s warmed up. Lemony/orange hops, sulphur, peanut, lingering buttery malt sweetness after the swallow. Quite astringently bitter in the finish. Won me over a little, but pretty dead and unimpressive.

Cask@GBBF2007. Golden colour, with almost no head at all. Aroma is eggs, grains and some yeast. Pretty much the same goes for the flavour. Some slight notes of malts too. Perhaps a bad cask?

Blackfriers. Aroma started off very sulphury, however moves onto bittering hoips with pale malts, hints of fruity sweetness. Taste is bitter, pale malts give a small amount honey sweetness, but generally well balanced.
