Exceedlingy thin body with citrussy hops. A little stretch of the imagination for me and its perhaps a little appley more Granny Smith than Golden Delicious. Like the eponymous apple I’m less than keen on this. 2.0
Nov 04 Cask-conditioned@ Hants Bowman, Dundridge. Served in excellent condition but lacked any real character. Sure there were a few hops and a slight bitter finish but not enough to interest. 2.4 haddonsman (1234), Derby, Derbyshire, England

Original rating 3.0, cask at Dead Poets, Holbrook. Light gold, had the crispness and sharp sweetness of apples certainly. Not much bitterness to write home about. Just above average. chriso (4851), London, Greater London, England
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 21, 2004 Beer #1 at Chelmsford beer festival, with Duff. Pale straw colour. After the Dartford Festival last week, where a high proportion of the beers were marred by an excessive diacetyl level, what did this one smell of? Butterscotch. Fortunately, that soon burnt off, but what was underneath was a bit innocuous. Some grassy hop character. Dry taste, with a bit of malt. Not an out and out quencher, but not bad. Not great either. Cask (gravity dispense).
