On tap, not much head, very dark in colour. Slight but obvious roasted taste, not terrible but not a good mild.

(Cask at White Horse, Parson’s Green, London, 27 Nov 2009) Dark brown colour, almost black, with brief beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of dark bread, raisins and prunes. Malty, roasted taste with raisins, prunes, coffee, wort and a dry finish with fairly low bitterness. Rather thin body but fairly tasty. Decent mild.

Cask at GBBF08. Fruity aroma, a bit roasted. Almost black colour. The flavour has a bit of mold, otherwise roasted and slightly caramelly.

Cask. Deep brownish amber colour with small head. Aroma is quite fruity/nectary with some hints of smoked wood and caramel. Flavour is dark dry fruits with some mild wooden notes. Ends in a bitter woodenness.

Cask (Ealing BF2008)
Paler than average dark mild appearance. Slighly hoppy aroma. Smooth. Watery taste. Some brown ale aspect, a little sour. Lactic maybe, old perhaps?

A Mes rate: Gravicask at Ealing Beer Festival.
Black / brown colour with a thin bubbly rim. Good fruity malt, some tobacco, slight hay. Feels a little too young and appley. Not much going on in the flvour department. Slight fruity notes being all that really stands out. Nothing special.
