maeib (4012), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England Apr 8, 2005 Bottled. An amber coloured beer which pours with hardly any head. The aroma is full of warming alcohol and buttery fruity smoothness. The taste is extremely pleasant, masking the alcohol content well. There is a similarity IMO to many good English barley wines with a butterscotch smoothness in the mouth and a sweet hoppiness. This is a truly wonderful beer.
weaselkenievil (390), Cheshire, England Oct 11, 2008 Bottle courtesy of the mighty Phil_L and beermerchants.com Clear amber with a thin white head. Alcohol very noticeable in both taste and smell but I like that every now and then. It’s sweet, caramel, toffee and butterscotch. Not bad, not an every day beer for me but still liking it. 250ml bottle.
Hazy dark yellow ale, with a huge thick off white head.
Maty aroma,slight medicinal/spice hints, alcoholic.Sweet aromas
Sweet malty flavours, esters, spicy, medicinal hints, actually slight alcohol for the strength.
Thick and luxurous on the palte..nice alcohol warmth in the belly.
An OK drink..one for after dinner sipping..which I am partaking of now.

Slightly yellowy-red, tiny copper head. Cardboardy taste, alcoholic too. Drying, quite fizzy palate. Alcoholic, almost boozy. Loads of esters, but not good. No.
