Commercial Description:
It was created in 1933 by Alfred Dubuisson, grand-father of the present family brewer, Hugues. Its former name was "Bush Beer 24°" (the density in Ballings), but today it is known as Bush Amber. Its amber colour is due to the use of caramel malt in the production process. Its bitter sweet taste provides it with firmness and personality. What's more, it helps digestion.

The aroma is sweet and malty; cloudy, medium-amber with a long-lasting head; nicely smooth and thick; initially sweet, then the taste turns to alcohol with just a slight amount of bitterness - unfortunately, the alcohol dominates

Debuisson Scaldis 250 ml 12% Smooth, sweet aroma with little to no alcohol smell. Some woody aromas with non descript fruitiness. Alcohol smell becomes more present as the beer warms. Pours a medium amber color with little head slight haziness. Lots of carbonation on the inside of the glass a la champagne. Slightly oily mouthfeel at first then broken up by the bubbly. Smooth taste with the alcohol present, but hidden if that makes any sense. Subtle sweet with a mild Belgian funkiness. Super yummy and easy to drink. Dangerous with the high ABV. Would drink again and be enthusiastic about it.

classic Belgian strong ale. Slighlty sweeter than most but sweetness brings out the fruits... Apricot, peach for sure. Nice balance for the ABV.

Bottle - Cloudy copper with thin beige head. Floating sediment. Fruity aroma. Sweet, fruity, a little spicy. Low to medium carbonation. Medium to full bodied. Alcohol warmth comes though (not surprisingly) . Not bitter.

250mL bottle, pours a dark golden/amber with a medium white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is fruit, malts, brown sugar and spice. Flavour is sweet malts, caramel and dark sugars. Alcohol is quite potent. Long, powerful finish. Almost like a cognac...

As Scaldis. Pours a clear medium copper color with a small ivory head. Aroma is of sweet dark fruits and alcohol, also a little cream and butter, but yes, a lot of alcohol in the aroma. Nutty, alcohol-filled flavor with anise and mint towards the end. Somewhat like a doppelbock or eisbock. The alcohol is way too present. Medium viscosity, average mouthfeel. Not well done. Overall, fair plus.
