Big, sweet, honey malts, with a bit of lemon in the nose. No hops left by now. Deep dark golden color with no head. Very sweet, ultra fruity flavor with passion fruit, cherry, and tons of alcohol! Burning, fumy finish balances the sweet malts. No hops present. Rich, smooth, oily. Brandy like. Very interesting and pleasant drinking. A bit of age seems to have been the charm.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 1, 2009 On tap at the Erasmus, Bruges. Clear yellow gold with nice healthy white head. Fresh tasting and fruity, a fine way to start the day (just opened when we walked in). Little malty and yeasty with a little dry sweetness. Not spectacular in any way but solid enough and enjoyable. floydian1 (290), FNQ, Australia

Pours murky pale orange with a small but lasting white head providing very good lacing. Lots of yeast sediments at the bottom of the glass. Candy sugar, yeast, alcohol and orangey citrus on the nose. Smooth full bodied palate with sweet malty flavours and an acidic spicy hop finish. The alcoholic presence is noticeable. Not bad but I’ve tasted many better Belgian blonds. ekstedt (2446), Göteborg, Sweden
