Commercial Description:
Created in June 1998, Bush Blond is obviously a discovery in the strong blond ales market in which it will undoubtedly play a major role. It has a light and glistering colour. Hugues Dubuisson who is the current brewer wanted it to be worthy of the famous Bush Amber and gave it the same nice aroma and flavour.

250 ml bottle. 1 year past its “drink by” date. Big, sweet, honey malts, with a bit of lemon in the nose. No hops left by now. Deep dark golden color with no head. Very sweet, ultra fruity flavor with passion fruit, cherry, and tons of alcohol! Burning, fumy finish balances the sweet malts. No hops present. Rich, smooth, oily. Brandy like. Very interesting and pleasant drinking. A bit of age seems to have been the charm.

Unclear amber of color with a white head. An aroma of sweets and spice. A flavor of spice, dried fruits and sweets.

33cl bottle, clear pale golden colour, small white head, light caramel malt aroma with spices and sugar notes, very sweet sugar flavor with shy hops notes, medium body, finish also with sugar...a bit cloying sweetness and light aroma, not seems to be 10,5% alcohol (without reading I thought it was not more than 6%), not a big belgian ale

On tap at the Erasmus, Bruges. Clear yellow gold with nice healthy white head. Fresh tasting and fruity, a fine way to start the day (just opened when we walked in). Little malty and yeasty with a little dry sweetness. Not spectacular in any way but solid enough and enjoyable.

250ml bottle into Trappist glass. Pours murky pale orange with a small but lasting white head providing very good lacing. Lots of yeast sediments at the bottom of the glass. Candy sugar, yeast, alcohol and orangey citrus on the nose. Smooth full bodied palate with sweet malty flavours and an acidic spicy hop finish. The alcoholic presence is noticeable. Not bad but I’ve tasted many better Belgian blonds.

Bottle (33 cl) at the brewpub at Bredaryd Wärdshus. Hazy amber with floating small yeast particles, medium white head. Fruity, teasty and alcoholic. Full bodied and very smooth. Fairly dry.

Gold body with decent head. Fruity nose with some spicyness to it. Fruity and sweet taste. Alcohol quite strong but masked quite well. Dry finish.
