Travlr (692), Washington, Washington DC, USA Oct 17, 2009 Bottle from a beer warehouse in Belgium, where it is almost affordable. Bubbly orange with a strong head. Aroma of brandy and apples. Taste of tropical fruits with a bit of vanilla and wood. Interesting. Pinball (2678), Allerød, Denmark Oct 11, 2009 cloudy orange, large thick yellow head.
aroma is woody, boozy, spicyt, cellary.
flavor is sweet caramelly, spicy, woody, boozy, faint flowery, whiskey?

Orange beatifull colour with extremely high lasting head.
Boytris nose, very sweet, with loads of fruits like peach and apples.
Almost calvados like, and very wine like in taste. Is this the sauternes of the beer world?
A fantastic suprise this beer! To bad it is so expensive. BMan1113VR (2752), Los Angeles (and Dallas), Texas, USA Aug 14, 2009 Older, cork and caged bottle (newer capped ones available in my area too.). Bought because I got any iBanking Job Offer today! $46.99 Bottle FYI. Cork was extremely volatile when released, but no gushing thankfully. Barely hazy, effervescent golden amber with a huge rocky white head head. A huge head for a barrel aged 13% -er. Tons of lace on each sip, full retention, a looker. Oaky, slightly boozy nose, caramel, cherry, and light rotten fruit in the back ground. Pretty musty. Taste is big and hot with cherry brandy. (kirschwasser), wood, and a oxidized caramel beer beneath. A ton of champagne mixed with cognac beneath. Very boozy, clean and elegant, but not of the subtly world beating flavors you get from de Nuits. Very boozy (the 13% flavor is their to smack you back to reality), lively mouthfeel. Oaky and toffee. Don’t know if this will benefit from more age. TomDecapolis (3122), Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 6, 2009 Bottle - Pours a hazy brownish orange with a smaller bubbly off white head. Aroma of oak, vanilla, tropical fruits, rich spicy yeast notes, toffee and lots of caramel notes too. Flavor of caramel, toffee, vanilla, strong oak but really smoothed the beer out, tropical fruits, Belgian yeast esters. Smooth and creamy...can’t tell it’s 13% BeerViking (189), Brentford, Greater London, England Jul 19, 2009 Poured cloudy, very little head. Nose has vanilla, fruity malt, slight sourness, hints of peaches and lemon, body is full and malty with drying alcohol, then an oaky and slightly peppery finish. SamGamgee (1393), Santa Cruz (La Selva), California, USA Jul 14, 2009 Bottle at the RBSG09 grand tasting. hazy amber with a big off-white head. Lightly funky yeasty aroma with some sweet caramel. Wood, caramel, and light yeasty flavor with some vanilla in the back. Finishes pretty dry for its size with a boozy kick. More barrel than I was expecting, and it doesn’t seem quite right for this beer. Thanks to whoever brought this because I’m glad I didn’t have to pay the ridiculous price for it. andersand (271), Malmö, Sweden Jul 14, 2009 Light hazy, light brown with a quickly dissapearing head. Aroma is interesting with notes of sour wood, yeast and fruity malts. Flavour is similar with a huge alcohol kick, simply too much alcohol coming through for my liking.
