Aroma is that of a scotch or whiskey--very strong aroma actually--the barrel-aged oak gives it a dinstinct smell. The flavor is at first similar to a whiskey/scotch, but then goes down smooth, almost like a cider in aftertaste due to the low abv compared to a scotch. sebletitje (1925), Tampa, Florida, USA

Totally captivated by this beer.
The smell reminded me of a brandy/whisky oak barrel aged beer. The smeel/nose of liquor is quite present.
The first sip is attenuated by a sweet aroma, a mix of apple cider/figue.leaving a little aftertaste of liquor. At 13% ABV, I was very suprised by how smooth this beer was. Very pleasant. There is a definite quality in this beer.

Good display of lacework. Heavy particles in flow with a lovely golden – amber color. Aroma of raisins, prunes, yeast, toffee, grain. Very Port Wine like with heavy vinous notes. Also wood and vanilla notes from the oak. Nice spicy underlying feel as well. Very full bodied with a lively carbonation and smooth and at the same time dry alcoholic texture. Heavy sweet flavor with mild bitter and acidic notes. Lingering alcoholic and fruity / spicy finish. Excellent beer.
