Cloudy amber body with a off white head and nice lacings.
Aroma is raisins, prunes, wood, alcohol and hints of yeast.
Flavour is raisins, prunes and alcohol, with weak notes of caramel, leaving a long vinous and delicious aftertaste.
Great brew but expensive.

Caramel, oak, dark fruit and a slight sour touch in aroma. Flavour is lots of dark ripe fruit, caramel, light alcohol, oak and vanilla. Very complex. Creamy texture. Lovely beer! moejuck (1172), Ohio, USA
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | May 2, 2009 I thought this beer sucked. Rust colored pour, with lots of butterscotch in the aroma. The brew is really lively--and the carbonation is way too high for my liking. The taste is really malty, but the butterscotch flavor comes on seriously strong in the dry finish. $45 a bottle here in Ohio, and I wouldn’t drink this again if it were $5. pepsican (885), The Student Ghetto, Iowa, USA

Fresh fresh fresh oak in the aroma and flavor backed up with a bit of butterscotch, caramel malts, and alcohol. It has a nice vanilla back note from the oak. Snappy champagne style carbonation. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 18, 2009 My girlfriend got this and I was lucky enough to try some. Pours a deep orangish amber pour with thick off white head. Aroma of sweet banana, light oak, some belgian yeast. Flavor is sweet, bready, with light oak and vanilla notes. A bit of apple, caramel. Flavors keep coming out of this one. It’s very obviously belgian. Alcohol is there and noticeable but it’s never hot. Nice mouthfeel, well carbonated. Delicious, wonderful belgian. wetherel (1641), Encinitas, California, USA

Well, I did spend $40 for the fest ticket, but I got 10 tickets. This took 3 tickets. Sweet. Strong amber color. Very good. Some banana in the aroma. mspindler (335), Alta Loma, California, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Mar 29, 2009 Bottle at DuffmanSWs tasting. Pours cloudy and orange with a large fizzy white head. Aroma is sweet and very belgian with some sweet fresh fruit. Flavor is strange, starts sweet and has a weird dry bitterness at the end. Oak aging is not particularly apparent, maybe a little vanilla but that’s about it. Full bodied and sticky, but very highly and almost unpleasantly carbonated.
