Bottle. Orange color. Complex smell with hints of whiskey, raisins, orange and butter. Spicy complex taste. Fruit, malted barley. butter. I’m sure this is a good brew, but I personally dont like this kind of sweet buttery flavors.

(Rating #2156)

Pours attractive hazy copper orange with a two finger off white, lasting head. The nose and flavor are cognac, toffee and butterscotch, along with a subtle dose of oak. Smooth on the palate.

750 ml bottle courtesy of JB. Pour is hazed orange, cloudy, with a billowy white head. Aroma is primarily the of yeasty spiciness, oak wood, coriander and an interesting ginger sweetness. Behind that is even some citrus fruit. Very and engaging interesting nose. Taste is big ginger, sweet, orange peel, slightly salty, some acidity present, and the vanilla woodiness from the oak. Nice clean taste. Palate is medium and coating. Clean and drinkable. Thanks for sharing this one JB!

pricey 750ml bottle from discount liquors, south bend and shared with monica to ring in 2009....pours a moderately hazy/cloudy cider brown with a thin white and quickly dissipating head.... a very woody oak aroma intermixed with vanilla and sweet ripened fruit. more vanilla and toffee arrive in the aftermath.... crisp and lively flavors comprising mostly of oak that also exemplified a delicate tartness. more vanilla and wood flavors which quickly assimilate with newly joined fruit flavors. semi-dry finish, lively carbonation, almost champagne like feel make this beer worthy of a try although not for the pricetag. abv was nearly undetectable.

Bottle that I picked up at Dranken Geers March 08 and consumed 01-01-09. Got to be honest I was a little dissapointed by this it poured a hazy orange amber but was as flat as a witches tit, not a bubble or even sign of filmy head in sight. There was plenty of oaky vanilla flavours, bit sweet, rich and tangy, typically Belgian in many ways but to be honest Iost interest in it and wonder whether my bottle was lacking.
