The oak barrels complement this beer, the wood and vanilla adding a level of complexity and smoothness, as opposed to dominating the beer. Thick and very rich, yet the orange color and frothy head still impart a sense of lightness. nice yeast. linger like port. faroeviking (6118), BjórtjóðveldiðBjórheimBjórsins, Faroe Islands

Nice sweet fruity and yeasty alco aroma. Good filling mouthfeel. The flavour is sweet and fruity with alcohol, yeast, malt and mild wood. Fruity bitter finish. Hides the 13% alc. pretty well. kmweaver (2474), Sebastopol, California, USA

Pours a dense, tarnished orange color; thin off-white head with medium-bubbled patchy lacing. Loads of dried oranges, peppery yeast, and honey in the aroma; complex, restrained sweetness, nicely yeasty. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: chewy, dense yeastiness, peppery / white pepper, effervescent carbonation; very peppery and yeasty, Champagne-like beer; mouthwatering and musty. Lengthy finish: pepper, yeast, solid breadiness, and nicely dry and toasty throughout. michael-pollack (2713), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 1/5 | 14/20 | Nov 2, 2008 Updated: Nov 18, 2008750ml Bottle: Aroma of bubblegum, champagne, alcohol, oak, wood, and light yeast. Poured orange/amber in color with a small, fizzy, loose, off-white head that lasted throughout. Cloudy. Very sparkling. Full of particles of all sizes throughout. Flavor is light to medium sweet. Tastes of wood, oak, tar, tobacco, whiskey/bourbon, caramel, vanilla, and fruit. Medium body. Mouth-feel is strange; it is so carbonated that the air blows my mouth up like a balloon when the beer is in my mouth. Fizzy, then chalky texture. Sweet, woody, caramel finish is dry. Over-carbonated. Literally required a belch after each sip to expel excess air. 13%ABV well hidden. I cannot believe this bottle cost me $40. What a waste. Very disappointing. bchlala (42), Denmark

| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Oct 30, 2008 A hazy dark amber colored beer, with a nice foamy off-white head. It leaves a beautifull lace on the glass. The aroma is great, sweet, caramel, fruits, like cherry, a little port. There is some vanilla with some spices. The taste is also great. Flavors of toffies, with fruits like cherries and other dark fruits. Some spices like coriander. There is a porto taste. And the end some nice bitter. The beer leaves a warm feeling in your mouth. reserva (30), Oud-Turnhout, Belgium

Orange, cloudy, with a white, mostly diminishing head leaving virtually no lacing. Toasted notes, straw, flowers, herbs, apple and honey. Moderately acidic with an averagely long finish. Medium bodied, dry, with fizzy carbonation.
