A friend that interned at the Lion Brewery said that this was the same exact recipe as Lionshead...and I love Lionshead. This tasted like a slightly lesser version of lionshead. beerhokies (7), USA does not count | 1.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 2/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 4/20 | Aug 7, 2007 dough, earthy, clear, golden, white foam, medium bitterness, fizzy, very mad that i bought this case and have 23 more bottles to choke down. should be called monkey poo. cheapdark (2046), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 1/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Jul 28, 2007 Smell is a little musty and slightly sour, like old rags. Ubiquitous pale yeller american lager appearance, no head and no visible carbonation. Says ale on the outside of the bottle but it certainly does taste like a rather musty lager. Stupid name, I avoided buying this for a year because of the label. Slight industrial flavors and rather processed muted tone. When I saw the label I thought this would be some kinda hopped up beer, boy was I mistaken. Just a typical pale yellow american lager with a unique name. Lionshead is probably better than this. Does the word ’ale’ on the label make me want to sue for false advertising? pineypower (1104), Pine Barrens, New Jersey, USA

Taste is about the same, rather generic. Only bought a bottle because of the name jsquire (2121), St. Marys, Ohio, USA
| 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Jun 11, 2007 I really don’t understand why this beer exists. Pale straw color with a fizzy white head. Some earthy notes in the corny nose. Thin, watery, some faint malts and something metallic. The label will get you to buy it out of curiosity, but only that once. Aubrey (2778), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Jun 5, 2007 Bought this because of the name at Lee’s in Las Vegas (Henderson, actually). Light golden with a bright white head. Soft, light body. Sweet malts, like sweetened bread. Mild hop presence; boring and flat; slightly herbal and earthy; only mildly bitter. Not much to this one beyond the funny name. madcow75 (425), Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Apr 17, 2007 Bottle. Pours pale yellow with a thin white head. Aroma ain’t too bad for a pale lager, sweet and malty. That is where the good ends. The taste does not do it for me. Reminds me of European beers like Heiny and Amstel, only not as good. I don’t know if I can choke this down, my wife seems to like it though. artbub (10), Carnegie, Pennsylvania, USA
| 1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 2/5 | 2/10 | 1/5 | 3/20 | Apr 2, 2007 Gag name, only slightly better experience to drink it. Maybe better than big company brews but not by much. Fizzy, barely hoppy taste, no body, only good for quenching thirst if you’re in no mood for water. I had hoped for more, but don’t buy it--similarly don’t turn it down the first time if someone offers it to you, but I don’t think you’ll rush to purchase your own case.
