Bottle sampled in Feb 2008: Pours a hazy yellow golden with a spotty white head. Aroma is slightly skunked and earthy with some clove, black pepper, and slightly estery yeastiness. Body starts lightly sweet and wheaty with a touch of lemon citrus and a drier, earthy bittersweet finish. Needs a little more body, sweetness and authentic yeast character.

Bottle from Ray’s Liquor in Chico. Aroma is light banana, light spice, light noble hop, light pale malt. Slightly hazy light gold color with a white head that didn’t wholly arrive. Thinnish in body with fizzy carbonation. Flavor is banana, wheat, followed by lemon notes that just come out of nowhere. The finish is dry, slightly citric, with some wheatishness. Crisp and refreshing.

Savannah, Ga. - Habersham Beverage Warehouse - 22 oz bomber. Hazy, urine specimen pour with a thin, quickly fading head. Barely there aroma of spice and hard water. Hint of spice, some watered down citrus - some lemon perhaps. Some day old bubble gum is found in the back end along with some metallic notes. Mouthfeel is decently thick. Wheat ales are quickly becoming one of my least favorite styles and this one is helping leading the cause.

Pours cloudy pale yellow with a fast falling thin white head. I’m just not impressed by this, lacks german hefe character like they claim, no clove or banana esters. The palate is thin and watery. Slight sour note in the finish. Lemon tasting finish with a long wheat flavor. Not even close the the description.

hazy light gold/yellow with small bubbly head. Minor clove and banana aroma. Flavors of sweet wheat initially - american wheat flavor but lighter. Secondary flavors include clove, yeast, and banana, but all in a lighter complimentary style. There is also some minor metallic flavor. This beer is pretty light in body, has moderate spritzy carbonation, and is very refreshing. Pretty nice. I would argue that this is a German Hefeweizen though.

Bottle from Bottle Barn, Santa Rosa; Nose of banana, yeast, and mild spices; Hazy yellow with a medium white head; flavor of peppery spices, wheat, with light fruitiness coming in along with mild hop bitternessfrom the medium light body, the bitterness lasting into the finish.
