A light bitter finish. Just yesterday I wondered what a pale ale would be like if I just used 1/2 of bittering hops. Now I think I know. Cornfield (4964), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jul 22, 2006 A mediocre offering in the APA category, almost seeming more like a weak American golden ale in flavor. The aroma’s okay, a sweet malt, caramel with butterscotch, and an orange & orange blossom hopping. The body is thin, the flavor weak - a light malt with a suggestion of wheat, some orange overtones. Finishes on a watery, metallic note.

| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 1/5 | 8/20 | Jul 7, 2006 Bottle Pours a clear light amber with a quick modest off white head. Thin spotty lacing. Aroma is malty and fairly sweet. Some hops but not nearly what I was expecting for "Extra" Pale Ale. Flavor was very thin. A sporting attempt at flavor but, sadly it didnt quite make it. Metallic, almost rusty and lacking in any real body. Dissapointing in general. Maybe its the organic thing they have there.

| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Jul 7, 2006 22 oz. Bottle: Clear dark gold color, not much of a head. Soapy, sweet hop aromas with something strange I can’t identify. The taste is awful - this is a huge let down for a pale ale. The taste has no real hop bitterness and leaves a real alkaline feel on your tongue. I feel like they brewed this with a Costco pack of Duracell batteries. Thanks Indiana_Red for this, I think . . . | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jun 25, 2006 From 12 oz. long neck brown bottle with no bottled/freshness date.
Made an average appearance, poured a hazy golden hued copper with a foamy head that settled into a thin lacing, moderate carbonation.
Had a sweet malty nose, barley and toasted grain with a dry leafy citric hoppiness in the background.
A semi-crisp and smooth medium bodied mouthfeel, average drinkability.
Sweet malted barley and toasted grain taste with a dry, leafy hoppiness, lightly citric and earthy and dry, sweet sugary and leafy finish, the leafiness and a metallic flavor from the malts lingers a bit in the palate.
An average at best APA, not awful, but not something I would be a regular buyer of.
