| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 24, 2004 Pouts orange with a fast falling white head. Fruity hoppy aroma. Taste is fairly bland with just a medium hop bitterness at the end. Not much maltiness to this brew. Dry finish and overall weakness make this a ok pale in my book. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Jul 16, 2004 A copper apperance with a flat head. A malty flavor but the malt is drowning in all the water! "Help, help! I need a life preserver" says the malt. The hop says "Excuse me malt I thought I saw a few more of MY kind around here but I seem to have lost them in all this water!" The malt replies "Whoo, luckily I found this life preserver! But Im sorry Ive only seen a few hops but none recently, I seem to see alot of YOUR kind on the other side of Chico, CA at this place called Sierra Nevada!" The hop replies "Damn you malt!" ---- Uh well anyway this is more like a boring blonde ale than a pale ale. I'll pass. Suttree (2739), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA

| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Apr 30, 2004 Pours watery, small white foam head. Lots of bubbles which demonstrates the over abundance of carbonation in the lightly tarnished brass colored liquid. Nose is of carbonation and some light earthly tones. Flavor is very un-pale ale. Not much hops, some tasty malting going on, similar to a Scottish ale as another rater pointed out. Rather disappointing, wasn?t what I was expecting, quite drinkable though. 5000 (2480), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Apr 13, 2004 Bottle pours light amber, small fizzly white head, light lacing, and even lighter carbonation. After a few minutes the head has completely left the building. Slight aroma of grain/malts. Slightly malty/nutty flavor, but it doesn't last. I just realized that this beer is as translucent as can be. Finishes flat, slightly dirty. This doesn't even remotely taste like an APA, but moreso like a lager. Very thin mouthfeel. Probably the poorest offering from Butte Creek.

| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Mar 13, 2004 Bought in the 22 oz brown bomber from the local organic food place.
Its a rather insipid average looking ale..a dark golden colour, little to no head, minimal lace.
smell is oddly , for an Pacific Pale, mostly of malts..theres some hop in the far background.
Taste again is mainly of malts at the front then the whole thing fizzles out..little hop aftertaste.
Pretty boring on the tongue..thin.
Not a great attempt at a Pale..with the malts on the front of the tongue I thought maybe this was going to be an English style pale..but it really never went anywere AlabastorJones (765), San Francisco, California, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Mar 6, 2004 looks like flat ginger ale, smells like apple juice, initial sweet flavor, hops aren't too heavy, which is what i would expect an "extra pale" to have, but eh.
