| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 19, 2005 Way overcarbonated. had to pour it in stages and it still built a huge bubbly head that took half the glass. Aroma is overripe fruit mash..I get bannanas and pineapple, but there are intense herbal and floral notes too. Light orange in color with a humngous fluffy white head. Flavor is a mix of custard/flan and floral notes..in the fore. The middle and finish are all citrusy hops and bitter orange rind. Definitely different than any other APA I’ve ever had. nearbeer (1874), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 23, 2007 500 ml. Clear, shiny orange-copper with a small head that tries to last. Aroma is spicy herbs and dried cedar. Flavor is fruity-spicy dry grains, toasted nut, and some dried, split wood that keeps making me think of cedar. Citrus-cocoa-resin aftertaste is nice. Palate is light-medium, smooth and dry-tingly. I think this unique, quality brew would fare well in the ESB category, as it seems to have some of the better style characteristics. hopscotch (5543), Vero Beach, Florida, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 21, 2008 Bottle... Clear, deep golden ale with a mid-sized, creamy, white head. Good retention. The sweet, floral aroma offers wild flower and clover honeys and black tea with a hint of English biscuit malt. Medium-bodied with fizzy carbonation. Great balance provided by moderate, black tea bitterness alongside pale malt sweetness. Lengthy clover and straw finish. Underrated, I think. BückDich (4857), McCall, Idaho, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 31, 2005 Amber color, light head. Nose of light dusty hops, pine and bubblegum. Sweet caramel and fizzy mouthfeel. Nice pale ale with no poor qualities. Tasty. harlequinn (2745), Tacoma, Washington, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Feb 1, 2006 Another fridge stocker. This is one of the most easy to drink APAs I have had in ages. Nice amber coloring, with a decent sticky little head. Big piney aroma, nice hop levels, some toffee and caramel maltiness, and some nice fruitiness as well. Enjoyable. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Feb 17, 2004 This was a beer that Butte Creek was forced to make by a investor. You can tell that this does not fall in line with thier other beers. This is very light and hardly represents a Pale Ale. Worth a try because it's cheap. JCapriotti (1378), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Dec 31, 2005 12oz bottle via Beer on the Wall. Light copper/amber color. Small white head, and a ton of bubbles coming up in the glass. Very sweet caramel aroma with flowers on top of that. Does’t feel as fizzy as it looks. Some orange with herbal caramel in the taste. Not too bad, but a very tiny stale edge to it. bhensonb (4374), Woodland, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Oct 8, 2007 Aroma of malt and floral hop. Doesn’t get better than that? Slightly hazy apricot flesh color with a white head that filmed quickly. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. The flavor is slightly caramel, with nifty light stone fruit flavors. Very nice in the mouth. The finish is slightly malty, nicely hoppy - fruit/floral rather than citrus/resin. It’s very good to drink.
