The pour is medium brown and hazy and lies beneath an aroma of plums, chocolate, and oak. The palate is medium. The taste is burnt caramel, plums, and some lager-like flavors. Not quite sure what they were going for here--but it doesn’t really taste like any strong ale I’ve ever had.

Medium ruby red color with medium sized light tan. Aroma is malty, touch of cherry and caramel. Flavor is malty, touch of roasted caramel and bit of hot alcohols. Finish is balanced, just a bit on the sweet side.

This pours a thick, dark copper brown body with an initially frothy head that vanishes pretty rapidly, strangely leaving some nice lacing in its wake. The aroma is very sweet, caramel and toffee topped with musty pine scents. The sweetness of the flavor is cut somewhat by the addition of old nuts and a resinous bitterness. Finishing on a sticky sweet note with a piney feeling on the tongue, this one’s just a bit too far on the sweet side for me.

22oz bottle pours caramel brown with a big offwhite head that fades back to a ring but laces after that.. Big aroma of caramel, toffee, and citrus and floral hops. Flavor is caramel, toffee, toasted malts, citrus, and pine at the finish which is actually somewhat bitter. Medium body with pretty lively carbonation and a soft feel. Enjoyable..

Draft. Dark dishwater copper color with a frothy white head. Grainy, malt aroma with no hops. Fruity and grainy malt aroma. Orange flavors but doesn’t really come from hops. There are no perceivable hops.

Poured a deep copper/ruby color with a thin off-white head that did not last too long. Has a very appealing aroma; caramel, toffee, raisins, plums, and toasted nuts. Flavor is very mild compared to the aroma, mostly caramel covered nuts. There is some hop flavor that comes through in the end along with a gentle bitterness. The mouthfell is very smooth and might be the best part of this beer. Not great but very enjoyable.

A bit sweet, bit short of contributing malt roasts, nuts, caramels, hop bitterness apparent but not much other character. A better than average beer with no apparent flaws.

Pours wtih an amber body topped by a thin head with some lacing. It’s slighty sweet and malty with a slight caramel note and an underlying piney hoppiness. Well balanced. Full bodied, smooth and a touch warming.
