| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Feb 9, 2005 Slight reddish golden amber body. Decent lacing from the fizzy white head. Aroma reminds me of a sandwich with a ton of those little alfalfa sprout things. Has a little bit of dry caramelly malt in there too. Taste has a raw and slightly bland hop bite to it. It isn’t "harsh", just raw. Its a bit like rye bread to, with slight citrus notes. Its actually quite interesting, just not overwhelmingly good. Afterwards I feel like I need to spit out the hay I just ate.

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 8, 2005 My first organic beer, nothing special here. Doesn’t taste too ambery because the hops are pretty light. Kinda like an amber/brown ale. Very biscuty. Sham (1846), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Feb 7, 2005 Clear, gold orange with a light foamy head and some wisps of lace. Freshly milled grain aroma with some hints of bitterness. There is lots of citrusy notes all throughout the aroma. Mostly sweeter citrus. Flavor is lightly toasted malts. Slight bitterness with a citrus bite. There is a hint of nuts about as well. Thin bodied, slightly watery with a finish of biscuity bitternes. DarkElf (2681), La Jolla, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 7, 2005 (12 oz bottle: Holiday Wine Cellar in Escondido, CA) Very floral and somewhat sweet overall, but there’s a moderate grapefruit bitterness that completes the hops deluge. For an amber ale, there’s not a whole lot of maltiness going on here. The nose is also sweet and very floral. Light golden color and with medium sized sediment suspended in the beer, plus plenty of sludge is left coating the bottom of the bottle. This beer is excessively carbonated. Opening the bottle, the cap nearly blew off like Mt. St. Helens, pouring the beer resulted in nearly a full glass of foam, and the carbonated palate is extremely expansive with every sip. The off-white head is exceptionally rocky, and resembles the terrain of San Diego County, complete with flat mesas and deep canyons. Fair amount of carbonation bubbles rise rapidly through the beer, and the head retention is exceptional, and probably would be even without the carbonation bubbles coming to its aid. Overall, I’d say this amber needs better balance, but at least the prominent, but not overly bitter hops is pleasant. Terminus (1955), Las Cruces, New Mexico, USA

| 1.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 2/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 3/20 | Dec 7, 2004 Dull hazy golden-copper color with a small off white head that doesn’t last, no lacing either. Vegetable and hay aroma, nasty butter and asparagus flavors. Medium bodied with a syrupy flat mouthfeel, I couldn’t finish the bottle, glad I only bought a single bottle. hershiser2 (923), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 6, 2004 Light copper in colour with a modest white head that quickly diminishes but never fully goes away. Malty and hoppy in the nose, much hoppier than malt though. Almost burning aroma. Flavor is sharp and acrid, hop bitterness dominates. Aftertaste is sharp and bitter.
