Poured a nice copper with a fluffy off-white head, mostly gone by the bottom of the glass. Big hoppy aromas of grapefruit and honey. Light maltiness with straw and butternut squash. Bitter in the beginning, then slightly sweet, long bitter finish. More grapefruit in the flavor. Smooth and creamy, medium to full bodied, big bubbles. Hides the 7.1% well. Medium body with some malt, but completely dominated by raw and very primitive bittering hops. No refinement, no citrus or caramel - just plain bitterness. 020506 DYCSoccer17 (2195), Davis, California, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | May 6, 2006 12 oz bottle purchased at Tops Liquors in Tempe, AZ. Floral hoppy aroma with a little bit of hemp. A fair amount of roastiness and mild smoked aromas present as well. Kind of strange aroma. Smells almost like an english IPA. Transparent copper color with a nice frothy enough off-white head. Good lacing. Mildly sweet caramel start, turning a very floral hopped flavor. Finishes with lots of smoke. Almost like an ash tray. A bit of booziness is present. Not what I consider a west coast IPA. By the way, this bottle said it was 7.1% ABV in contrast to the 6.3% abv listed on the site. Emil (6074), Copenhagen, Denmark

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 26, 2006 12 oz bottle, unlike the 22 on the description. Poured a nearly crystal clear orangish amber body with a moderate head. Aroma was quite fruity and there were also some spicy hops here. Some caramel as well. Very drinkable and alcohol is hidden well. Nothing really grabbed me here... it was fine... but I was left wanting something more. kyzr (1123), Belgrade, Montana, USA
