Nice hoppy aroma, but a little too hoppy for a pilsener. Citrusy, hoppy flavour with a bit of sourness. Sourness and lack of balance in the finish. Ingy (100), candler, North Carolina, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Feb 9, 2008 bottle, golden, cloudy. Comes off like a European pilsner, but with the perfume of an american pale ale. Hoppy, not great balance. RblWthACoz (963), Brooklyn, New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 3, 2008 Pours a foggy straw with a fairly sizeable white head off a very aggressive pour. Nose is slightly earthy and overall mild. Flavor is a bit rich in the earthy sense. Mild ink seems to appear. Definitely rustic and earthy. Not light at all as far as flavors go. Feel has a decent liquid and a decent carbonation as well. Overall this is pretty good, I say. Definitely unique and more rustic than a traditional pilsner, but still a pleasure to drink. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 3, 2008 Bottle. Pours light yellow with a nice head and lots of lacing. A nice looking beer. Aroma is heady Saaz and marshmallow. Flavor is a bit on the sweet side with a mellow corn and fresh cut grass taste. mkobes (2104), paramus, New Jersey, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 3, 2008 Bottle. Deep hazy golden in color with a nice fluffy white head. Hoppy grainy malty aroma. Floral hoppy notes. Hoppy grainy and peppery flavor. Grassy piney notes. Finish is hoppy. Crisp and refreshing. Medium bodied. Nice beer. Drinkable. wilkie (1191), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jan 26, 2008 Bottle at Tyr na Nog in downtown Raleigh. Pours pale, straw colored, slight haze, small thin head, good carbonation. Aroma is grainy, bread, and some floral hops. Very crisp, slight malt, very grainy. Kind pilsner-ish, but the haziness and grain really detract. Varnava (13), Canada
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 2/5 | 9/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jan 14, 2008 The foggy intense taste that is common from Butte Creek does not work with a pilsner. Other beers are better. junon (221), Honolulu, Hawaii, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 11, 2008 At less than 5%? this thing has bite. Reminds me of Poperings Hommelbier. Appearance was deceiving as it did not indicate such a flavorful beer.
