Jul 15, 2007 Bottle - Pours dark brown/black with light tan head. Notes of malt, coffee, nuts. Coffee, chocolate, roasted malt, roasted nuts - like most porters, but this seemed to be lacking the richness or full-flavor that I expected. I’ll try to re-rate sometime in the future.

Jul 8, 2007 Poured with a tan head and some lace. Very dark garnet color. Nice roasty coffee, cocoa, malty nose. Very soft in the mouth. At least I know I’m only poisoning my body with the alcohol in this beer. very good beer. Finish is a bit long in the dark fruit & molasses.

Jun 13, 2007 12 oz bottle. Nice aroma of chocolate and coffee. Flavor is the same with chocolate and coffee coming through first, then a hop crispness appears and finishes with a mild bitterness. A nice mild roastiness in there. Very smooth and drinkable. Lighter body than most porters, but not too thin. Very enjoyable. I could drink a bunch of these.

May 31, 2007 Pours very dark brown with creamy tan head. Coffee and dark chocolate with hints of vanilla and touch of oak. Very satisfying porter, just the right amount of thickness in the mouth.

May 29, 2007 (bottle - 12 oz) Dark brown pour with a lot of fluffy tan foam. Aroma is very roasty with lots of coffee flavors as well as some cream and chocolate. Flavor is very rich and creamy with a good, solid roasted coffee middle and a smooth and very burnt finish. Aftertaste is quite bitter and lingers for a while. A bit watery though.

May 10, 2007 Bottle, thanks to my in-laws. Pours a very dark brown with a foaming massive tannish head - almost a bit of a gusher (no idea how old the bottle is, maybe 4 months?). Really nice coffee roast nose with some chocolate hints. Really carbonated mouthfeel. Taste is nice - classic porter, lots of coffee roast flavour, appreciable amount of roast bitterness in finish. Short finish, and maybe a little too carbonated, otherwise, great effort, very drinkable, very fresh.

May 2, 2007 Dark Brown with Red Hues and Sandy Head. Thin Smelling Coffee Roasts and Sweet Malt on the Nose. Initially a Thin Body, but Increasingly Thicker..Quickly Departing Coffee Notes and Light Chocolate. Crisp, Bittersweet Chocolate Finish. Normally A Thick Bodied Porter Seems the Order of the Day, But This Session Style, Much More Drinkable Porter Has Its Own Praises Worthy of Singing.

Apr 18, 2007 you say weak and highly carbonated, i say a refreshing porter. smells like nestle quick powdered chocolate. taste is roasted peanuts and oats with a nice bit of hops. it could use more body, but not a bad bottle
