| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 2/5 | 17/20 | Jan 10, 2007 Fairly tranpearent body for a porter, had amber tint to it. Nice head, some lacing. Lots of sweet aroma, notes of chocolate, coffee, sugar cane, with floral qualities to it, as well as dry hops and a touch of pine. In the mouth it starts out somewhat dead, some sweet grape and chalk to it, but then opens up with the chocolate and roasted malts. The hops then hit, with sherry and pine flavors. I could also detect the aclohol at points. The body was weak for the style. But a very enjoyable beer. CaptainCougar (5519), Rockville, Maryland, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 30, 2006 Pours a barely transparent dark mahogany with a thin, wispy-lacing, light-tan head. Aroma of sweet, yet earthy roasty malts with some smoke and ash. Body starts sweet and caramely malty with nice dark chocolatey flavor and a roasty coffee finish. A nice porter. hayduke (1659), Eureka, California, USA
