Thanks Daknole. This beer’s thick tan head launched from the bottom of the glass on the pour. It showed patience requiring retention. Aroma is fruity and unlike most porters in that no roasted malt is noted. Flavor does have plenty of coffee. It includes dark fruit, anise, powdery chocolate, and pleasant hops. It finishes sour with chocolate. An enjoyable porter and, in my opinion, an underrated one.

Bottle. Pours a dark reddish brown with an off white head. Aroma is of roasted malts, coffee and some chocolate. Flavor of burnt coffee. Even with that it is still drinkable, but too watery.

Pours a dark brown color with a light tan head. Aroma is of roasted malts. Mostly chocolate with some coffee, molasses, and some dark fruits. Flavor has a little more nuttiness than the aroma led on to believe. The flavor was pretty dissapointing, the roasted flavors got covered up with the nuttiness.

Bottle from a bodega in Brooklyn. Dark brown, chocolate body with beige head. Malty nose. Nice taste of coffee and chocolate. A bit thinnish. Pretty good.

Dark chocolate in color and pours a cappuccino head, fairly thick with plenty of lacing left behind. Aroma not too strong--malts with coffee undertones. Not too thick with slight carbonation. Roasted coffee flavor, the bitter coffee finish lingers. Flavor is not as strong as other porters and so drinkability is easier, yet is also a bit watery and thin.
