Slight sugar and sherry note in the aroma. Rich and smooth in the mouth. More so medium bodied. Lingering sticky sweet malt flavor. Nice hop note in the finish. Anise and caramel, bitter chocolate and coffee, slight piney, pruny. The hops give it an added step in the finish. They linger a little less than the malts so the bitterness fades. Quite heavy and thick and sticky at the end of the glass. AlabastorJones (765), San Francisco, California, USA

Dark almost opaque, good tanned head, lace. Roasted, cold coffee nose. Carbonated, roasted, almost chocolaty. With roasted malts also some bitterness in the aftertaste. Easy to drink - balanced porter. (7/4/7/4/15 3.7)

Brown color, small off-white head. Coffee and some off light glueish notes. Well, some glue also in the flavor plus coffee beans, roasted malts, hops and vegetables. (6/3/6/2/11 2.8) NachlamSie (1643), Tennessee, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 15, 2005 bottle. Deep, near black, red hue with a thin tan head. The aroma is roasted malt with some faint dry fruit. The flavor is predominantly chocolate with a little toasted malts. This would be excellent if it were more robust, but quite drinkable none-the-less.
