Bottled. Near black, average head. Aroma of chocolate and plums. Dry and roasty with medium body. Notes of madeira and licorice, but the chocolate flavour prevails. Medium bitterness.

Thin and fizzy, mildly watered down. Tastes are malt dominated with a burnt malt taste and a hint of molasses. Nothing really special here, a so-so porter.

Not a bad little porter. Purply ruby body that looks black from a distance. The head is thin and fizzy. The aroma is chocolately and malty. The body is fairly light, but a sweet cookie and chocolate malt dominate.

Sharp aroma that still manages to be malty. A touch smokey. Black but utterly headless. Very watery tasting. Smokey and charred flavors. Dark chocolate. Has a lifeless feel to it. To me it needs much more carbonation. The flavors are not off putting, but the stillness of the beer is.

There’s a big burnt wood aroma on this remarkably flat, dark crimson beer. After the big "pow" to my olfactory senses, I was underwhelmed with the flavor, or relative lack thereof. The brew is thin -- sweet roastiness makes a tease to the palate, but otherwise this is an empty promise.

Nicely smoked aroma with hints of burnt wood, pipe tobacco and baker’s chocolate. Heavy body with more initial smoked notes that really fill the mouth. The body becomes more roasty in the middle, with a touch of hop bitterness in the finish. All-in-all, a solid and filling porter.

Very dark body that shows as a dark ruby when held to light. The aroma is stong with roasted coffee and some peanuts. There is also a fair amount of chocolate. The taste has some rich chocolate and then coffee in the finish. This has a nice slick body. A solid porter.
