This one is good. Bottle from Peace St. Market, Raleigh. Deep black pour with medium tan head. Solid chocolate, licorice, and cherry aromas. Tastes roasty-malty, with some chocoff hints, and indeed some cherry and hop notes at the finish. Complex, and well balanced.

A frothy off white head tops this dark garnet colored beer. This reminds me of the aroma of a box of chocolate covered cherries. This has a slightly sweet malt flavor that starts full but ends a bit thin.

Black, tan head. Smells of raisins, dark dried fruit. Coffee, chocolate, roasted malt beautifully balanced by hops. Full body. One of the better porters I’ve had, 3.31 average seems a bit low.

Bottle poured black with a thin off white head. Good roast and chocolate aroma with a sweet roasty flavor. Medium body makes for a great tasty drinking porter.

Pours a dark, dark brown with an average tan head. No lacing apparent. Very malty aromas, burnt malt and lightly smoky. Taste is really smoky and malty. Burnt malt and a smoky finiah and aftertaste. A bit thin for my tastes. Not much else to say. Certainly the best organic beer I’ve had but not very complex or satisfying overall. Very smooth and drinkable though. OK but not for me.

Not a great color(a little light), small insubstantial head, its smooth with roasted overtones but doesn’t have a spectacular finish(crisp hop bitterness?). overall a good taster without the looks
