Large tan/light brown head, good retention and lace. A real black porter, almost opaque with some brown edging. Light roasty nose, grainy, doughy.Medium body, sorta creamy. Roasty flavors, black malt and bread. Finish fairly dry, somewhat fruity.

Dark brown pour with a large tannish head and spotty lacing. Chocolate, roast, and smoke malts. Some raisins. Slight hops. Alcohol. Big roast malts in the flavor with a touch of smoke. A bit grainy. More alcohol. Bitter hops come out a bit more here. Smooth palate, medium bodied and a nice finish of alcohol and bittering hops.

This tastes exactly like a homebrew me and a couple friends made a few years ago, right down to the excessive carbonation. This is a beer that improves with its warmth (as most porters do). Do not make the mistake of drinking it right out of the fridge from the bottle. A glass at room tempature will yield some more smoothness and texture in the beer, and will lessen the effects of the carbonation. Overall, a decent, average porter worth trying at least once.

Deep brown-black with thick tan head that fades quickly. Aroma of roast malt with a hint of fresh hay. Roast malt flavors with hints of chocolate and dark fruit. A solid porter.

pours out a dark brown color, not as dark as im used to for porters- but nonetheless- thick head that quickly dissipates. aroma has a faint smell of alcohol and possibly scotch or whiskey? faint smell of coffee too. very thin feel when in the mouth, but by god i taste alot of alcohol in this, and i dont know why. goes down a little too easy, not thick at all. not bad all in all. note- my aroma rating is based on the fact that i smell some kind of spirits, cant say why, but i love scotch. must be all the malts used.. mmmm scotch...

This beer couldn’t be any more force carbonated! I slightly began to apply pressure to uncap this beer and Psssssssssssst the cap flys off the beer. I attempt to pour the Porter and I get a 16 oz glass of caramel colored foam. Pours a Deep / dark mahogany body and a massive head. The aroma is large with cream, butter, chocolate, and molasses. The flavor is pretty nice. Notes of coco and toasty-kilned grains are most abundant. Actually it finishes very dry with all the charred chocolate malts.
I have one grievance, and that is with the palate….. too light and runny, almost cola like. I think this is more a porter for mass consumption and distribution rather that a beer aficionados type of bag; It was however worth the $2 I spent on it. The appearance is nice but that doesn’t make up for the lack of body and cheap mouth feel.

Very little carbonation out of the bottle, but I poured large and got a nice 2 finger head that dissipated before I even sat back down, the remaining cap of head is sticky and thin with lots of lacing. Black color, ruby translucent under the light. The aroma is faint and mild with some roasted milk chocolate and some coffee notes. The flavor is milky too with a light roasted finish. Pretty standard porter here. A little sweet, creamy & mild but balanced. I can't complain.

Definite chocolate malt, but restrained enough to near robust territory - hop action is good to keep all clean. Nicely bittered with coffee aspects, of course. As Clark states, this is a real session porter. Traditional body - some cardboardy and watery characteristics.
