Nicely bittered with coffee aspects, of course. As Clark states, this is a real session porter. Traditional body - some cardboardy and watery characteristics. AHouse (18), Phoenix, Arizona, USA

Good pour, clear, filtered but nice and deep brown with some lighter brown around the sides. Small off-white head. Aroma pretty good for a porter, strong chocolate malt, sweet with a hint of sweet roastiness. Flavor begins with a nice sweet roasted flavor, light coffee and a touch of mild hops. Altogether, it is very smooth, balanced and flavorful, though not too daring. That's ok though, not every beer has to be an experiment. I was ready to say almost light bodied, but as it warmed, it picked up a bit of chewiness and the taste was as good if not better. I could drink a pitcher of this in no time. Mmmm, session porters. . . TheDean (785), MIlwaukee, Wisconsin, USA

The beer comes in a brown long neck..with a nice country scene on the label..this beer is apparentlly USDA certified organic.
After a fairly vigourous pour the beer looked handsome enough in my glass..deep dark ruby red in colour ,when held to the light.
Small but relativlly attractive head that dissapated to a nice creamy lace.
mmm this beer has a nice aroma..nice dark roasted malts....milky aroma..like chocolate milk.
Nice clean porter taste in this brew nice milk chocolate taste at the front followed by a mellow bitterness..very creamy..i liked this.
Some fruitiness even detected as i swill it over my tongue.
Very smooth and excellent on the tongue..nice after tatses.
Very drinkable porter .
NOTES: well done Butte Creek you have restored my faith in organic ales..
