Bottle, 12oz. It pours a ruby, brownish body with a beige head. Roasted nose with a touch of chocolate and coffee. Some dried fruits in the background. The flavor is much the same, with malty flavors like chocolate and coffee doing most of the job, but there’s also some hoppy bitterness. Most of the bitterness is of the coffee like kind though. Medium body. Lasting coffee-bitter finish. It’s a quite decent beer, but it gets a bit boring. (090213)

Sampled after the Eel River Organic Porter. The head on this beer was a bit creamier and left minimal lace on the glass. Additionally, much more coffee infused. Aroma is of burnt malt, caramel, and a little cocoa. Heavy coffee flavors with a bit of bitterness in the finish. Also a little thin, but not bad.

Definite chocolate malt, but restrained enough to near robust territory - hop action is good to keep all clean. Nicely bittered with coffee aspects, of course. As Clark states, this is a real session porter. Traditional body - some cardboardy and watery characteristics.

This beer poured an extremely dark brown color with a nice white head. Aroma is like the taste, with a cocoa, caramel and hop flavors. Subtle cocoa and hop aftertaste. It is light-bodied but not watery. Drinkability is good and would make nice session porter.

Bottle. Fruity malt aroma. Brown-black body, very thin tan head. Flavor is roasty and nutty and chocolatey, with some coffee bitterness and a hint of ripe fruit sweetness. Very pleasant finish. Quite an enjoyable porter.

12oz bottle. pours with a very tall, thick, and creamy head. the color is red brown, with orange edges. aroma is roasty with coco and a hint of cherry. nice full body with a rich layered texture. coco and molasses stand out. a well pronounced hop bitterness rounds out the finish.
