| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 24, 2008 Picked up a single bottle at Pat-apostrophe-s Liquors in Porter, IN: This pours a clear reddish brown with a sort creamy tan head. It has a nose of lightly roasted malt, cocoa, and a nutty bitterness. The flavor is more chocolatey and also tastes of uncooked cookie dough. A bit thin, perhaps, but pretty decent. danielcurtis81 (905), San Diego, California, USA

Lightly smoked roasted malt aroma with light vanilla wood notes and some mocha. Clear, dark brown red body with a small medium-lasting foamy off-white head. Roasted wood malt flavour has some smokiness and mocha characteristics. Medium-full body. Bonus for being organic, but a good one at that.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 12, 2008 Updated: Sep 13, 200812 oz. bottle purchased at Total Wine in Kennesaw, Georgia.
Appearance: Pours a black body with a thin, wispy, bone white head.
Smell: Malty nose smelling of roasted barley, licorice root, unsweetened chocolate, and sweetened nuts. Distant piney note.
Taste: Roasty maltiness with a taste of chocolate and caramel. Heck, even some burnt nut shells and coffee in there, too. Fair amount of sweetness, but this is quickly tempered by a light piney hoppiness with a medium-low bitterness. There’s that hint of licorice again. Drying finish with a light, lingering roastiness.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium-low carbonation. Just a bit watery.
Drinkability: A decent, dry-minded porter that comes across light as it errs on the side of drinkability. jerc (3936), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 11, 2008 2008-09-02. Black body with a modest creamy tan head. Sweetish mocha aroma with touches of imaginary vanilla. (7+) Flavour is likewise, sweet mocha gives way to stronger coffee like mid-tones that linger with bitterness in the finish. (7+) Average palate is lightly carbonated and a touch lighter than my preference but makes up for it by being rather smooth. (3+) Simple overall but quite drinkable. Rather nice. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 4, 2008 Dark brown pour with a small creamy tan head that laces nicely. Aroma of roasted malt, grain and coffee, with a surprising amount of hops. Flavor is nice as well, with a good hop bite on the finish. The hop bitterness provides a welcome change to many other overly sweet session porters. blklab2007 (967), Connecticut, USA
