Cajun (136), Ball, Louisiana, USA Jul 15, 2007 Bottle - Pours dark brown/black with light tan head. Notes of malt, coffee, nuts. Coffee, chocolate, roasted malt, roasted nuts - like most porters, but this seemed to be lacking the richness or full-flavor that I expected. I’ll try to re-rate sometime in the future.
Nekronos (1997), Xalapa, Mexico Nov 20, 2008 Aweseom porter, not so gassy as the Californian normal stouts and not so thick. blipp (909), Grand Island, New York, USA Nov 20, 2008 Bottle. Pours deep ruby with a beige head. Darker chocolate aroma with espresso. The flavor is strong coffee beans, some smoke, with a hint of hops in the finish. Nice. BREWMUSKCLES (810), WEEHAWKEN, New Jersey, USA Oct 26, 2008 starts out just a bit more than a bit ashy and that was really not good. but time turns that taste into a bit acrid type of roastiness and blends better with the overall good chocolate flavor and mouthfeel of this beer. velvety and flavorful this could be a real winner except that acrid smoke is just... artificial in taste. touch of hops for my palate at best. creamy and a bit sweet. certainly not bad. malrubius (486), USA Oct 23, 2008 12 ounce bottle in pint glass. Dark bronw black with nice tan head and lotsa lace. Mild chocolate and yeast aroma. Roasted chocolate and fruity flavor with biting hoppy carbonation finish. Medium body. Bite settle down a little when some air comes out. Ok. kseecs16 (584), Westmont, Illinois, USA Oct 21, 2008 Bottle. Poured an opaque dark brown with a lightly lacing creamy off-white head that clings to the glass. Rich, almost smoky aroma of roasted malt. Hints of char and chocolate are present on the toasted malt body and this beer finishes with a coffee-like bitterness. Nice blend of bitter sweetness in this Porter. Creamy mouthfilling beer with a light roast aftertaste. Nice.
