2006 vintage. Thanks Jason. The beer pours to a nicely hazy coppery chestnut colored body with a very thin white head. The flavor is extremely bitter grassy hops. There is also butterscotch. The palate is really bitter and moderately full bodied. The aroma is a nicely sweet barleywine with nicely aged malt.

2006 bottle. Red-amber body with dusty yeast floating about. Sweet sugary malty, buttery aroma, not much hopping; some alcohol in back. The flavor has the same buttery element with some spicy bittering (lime and pine sap) hops on top. OK stuff.

Slightly hazy (maybe?) reddish rust. Sweet blend of malts in the aroma with some light flowery hops in the background. More hops show up in the flavor... some honey-lemon sweetish cough drop stuff going on. Hops are showing age, but are good. Pretty good overall.

2006 vintage from Jason deep copper color w/ a dense off white head and some decent lacing. thick carmel aroma good amounts of alcohol a pretty solid grass hints as well w/ a touch of citrus. Palate is a touch hot well coated and lightly creamy. wierd flavor an odd syruppy pine needle taste w/ some good carmel and lots of alcohol. I’m not really a fan.

Bottled. Semi clear golden colured with a rather large tan head. Malty with notes of hops, caramel, alciohol, spices and pines.

Bottle bought at Ledger’s Liquors, in Berkeley. At first it pouring rather flat, but after a short bit it created a nice frothy head that lasted for a short bit. dark orangy/brown in color. Nice hoppy aroma, not dominated by any particular hop. Knocked off one point here since I thought it would be nice if it was every so slightly more aromatic. Hop flavor is clean. There’s an orangy-spicy flavor. Very pleasant. Orangy flavor stays on the palate in the aftertaste, though not overly bitter. Alcoholly taste starts to appear after beer warms a slight bit. No doubt I’d buy this bottle again! If you can get it DO IT, espcially if you like IPAs. Even if you don’t you might after having this one. And on top of this, its organic? Sweet!!
